Pandora, organic machine (2011) for speaker and four instruments (text by Dagny Gioulami), was premiered on 10th July at the Cheltenham Festival, by the group Counterpoise and the speaker Donald Maxwell. Further performances summer 2012 in the UK.

 



 

Biography:

 

Edward Rushton studied at Chetham's School of Music, King's College, Cambridge, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and the Zurich Conservatoire. His composition teachers have included Robin Holloway and James MacMillan. He is based in Zurich and works as a freelance composer and pianist.
Recent works have been commissioned for and played by such groups as the Endymion Ensemble, London Sinfonietta, Schubert Ensemble, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Faber Music, Camerata Zürich, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, Vokalensemble Cantapella, Leeds Lieder+, Orchestra of the National Theatre Mannheim, London Symphony Orchestra, Counterpoise, The Harry White Trio, Zurich Opera, The Opera Group, State Opera of Hanover, State Opera of Kassel.
